Kampong Speu is a province in Cambodia and shares its borders with the provinces of Pursat and Kampong Chhnang to the north, Kandal to the east, Takeo to the southeast, Kampot to the south and Koh Kong to the west. Its capital is Kampong Speu town. This province is naturally rich and is located at Tang Tonle Village and Ampe Phnom Village, So Por Tep Commune and Svay Kra Van Commune, Chbar Mon District in 48 km distance from Phnom Penh (the capital). The area of the province is 7017 square kilometers. It is divided into 8 districts composed of 87 communes and 1358 villages.

Speu is the Khmer word for “starfruit”, but Kampong Speu is famous for its palm sugar production, considered the best in the Kingdom. It also produces variety of palm wine. It has varied topography, from a large area of lowland paddy fields in the east to lowland/upland mosaics and upland forested areas in the West. The current population in this province is about 762,500 people. The rural households depend on agriculture and the economy consists basically of rice and fruit cropping and fishery.

  • Borset - Theary Mean Chey, Svay Chocheb, Svay Rumpear, and Tuol Sala
